Help
Everything you need to print on both sides of the paper with a printer that can only print on one.
How two-sided printing works
- Open a PDF in Pagimio (choose a file, share it from another app or drag it onto the window on the Mac).
- Choose Print two-sided (manual). Pagimio splits the job into two steps.
- Step 1: load enough plain paper and print. On a Mac, iPhone or iPad Pagimio sends the pages directly to the printer chosen in the app. On Android the system print dialog opens: keep 1 copy and 100% scale there.
- Wait until the printer has finished and confirm that all sheets are printed. Pagimio cannot see this by itself.
- Step 2: take the whole stack without changing the order of the sheets, put it back exactly as you did during calibration and print the other side.
- Check the result and confirm. Done.
Calibrating your printer
Every printer feeds paper a little differently, so Pagimio asks once how yours behaves. You need 2 sheets of A4 paper and about two minutes.
- Choose Calibrate printer and print the test pages (first side).
- Take the printed sheets and put them back in the tray the way you will always do it – for example flipped like a page of a book. Do not change their order. Tell Pagimio how you did it.
- Print the other side.
- Answer two questions: whether the text on the back is upright, and which sequence of numbers you see when you go through the stack like a book.
- Save the printer profile. From now on two-sided printing on this printer uses it.
Calibrate again when you switch to a different printer or tray, change the way you put the stack back, or when backs come out upside down or in the wrong order.
Tips for good results
- Always put the stack back the same way you chose during calibration.
- Do not reorder the sheets between the steps and do not remove blank ones.
- Fan the paper before step 2 so the printer does not pull two sheets at once.
- On Android keep 100% scale and 1 copy in the system print dialog; Pagimio already plans the pages. On a Mac, iPhone and iPad it prints directly, so there is nothing to set.
- With an odd number of pages the last sheet has no back – Pagimio tells you when it may stay out of the tray.
- Pages are fitted to A4 paper.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I have to confirm that the printer has finished?
The system print service only reports that the job was handed over to the printer, not when the last sheet came out. So Pagimio asks you before the next step.
Something went wrong during a step. What now?
You can print a step again, start the job over or cancel it. If paper jammed, remove the damaged sheets, print the step again and keep the order of the stack.
The backs are upside down or in the wrong order.
The stack was probably put back differently from the calibration, or the printer behaves differently than recorded. Calibrate again and put the stack back the way you chose.
My printer can print on both sides by itself.
Then you do not need Pagimio for that printer: use its built-in two-sided printing, for example from another app’s print options or the printer’s own settings. Pagimio is meant for printers that cannot.
Can I close the app between the steps?
Yes. An unfinished job is kept on the device and offered again when you open the app – for up to 7 days since it was last used.
Which files can I print?
PDF files. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened; save them without a password first.
Is my document sent anywhere?
Only to your printer: on a Mac, iPhone and iPad directly to the printer chosen in Pagimio, on Android through the system print dialog. Pagimio has no servers and does not upload anything – see the privacy policy.
